New Chairman of Hota Pakistan
As an expert nuclear cardiologist and internist served in Washington
USA, Dr Ishtiaq Malik, arrived Pakistan to serve the people. With his 29 years
of experience in the field of medicine, he was committed to work for the
welfare of his people.
For the sake of
serving people of Pakistan and availing maximum benefits from his valuable
experience in the betterment of health care facilities, Dr ishtiaq malik joined some major ventures. He was determined to
work as a cardiologist by providing modern heart care facilities in Pakistan.
By considering his achievements in the field of medicine, Dr ishtiaq malik was appointed as new chairman of
HOTA Pakistan by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. In April 2017, he took the
position as chairman of HOTA. HOTA (Human Organ Transplant Authority) is
government organization working under the National Health Services (NHS). From
its inception, HOTA has been working to stop the illegal trade of human organ
and to regulate the laws pertaining to Organ Transplantation in Pakistan.
The news of Dr Ishtiaq’s appointment triggered mixed
reaction in the different sections of civil society and media authorities. His
appointment became the latest news on all media cells. There was huge criticism
from the civil society. Some media bodies initiated campaigns to remove him
from the position. This criticism was mainly elevated by the doctors and
medical experts. By setting aside his capabilities and vast medical experience,
they were raising his previous cases back in US.
Despite this swift wave of criticism, there was a section,
who was supporting him as per his determination to the work and breakthrough
achievements in the field of Nuclear Cardiology. To avoid this restlessness in
the civil society and media, Dr ishtiaq malik resigned
from his position just after two weeks of his appointment.
